Ever known one of those weird people that would rather lie down on the hard floor to watch TV, than sit on the couch? (That would be me) It would seem that these people must enjoy being
uncomfortable, but let me suggest you give it a try.
As Americans, the average amount of TV watched is 34 hours per week. That is hard to believe and I am NOT suggesting you watch more TV, but you can redeem some of that time by hitting the deck and developing some healthy habits.
When I was in junior high, my dad challenged me to do 25 push-ups, every time there was a commercial break, while watching a TV program. These push-ups soon had sit-ups added to them and before I knew it, I was watching TV on the floor, so that I could workout at the same time. And believe it or not, I don’t even think about it as a chore anymore, it’s almost second nature. If you do it long enough, it becomes so habit forming, that your wife will have to ask you to join her on the couch, so you’re not watching a Friday night movie at separate levels.
Personal Challenge to MEN: 25 push-ups & 25 sit-ups every commercial break while you watch TV.
So do yourself a favor guys, and get on the floor whenever a commercial starts. Once those 25 get easy, keep increasing the number. Not only is it good for your health, but your kids (or dog) may appreciate you being down at their level too.
